Mounth Sorik Marapi

Mount Sorik Marapi is one of the mountains that is included in the normally active category, therefore its activity continues to be monitored on this mountain. The Mount Sorik Marapi Volcano Observation Post is located in Sibanggor Tonga Village, Puncak Sorik Marapi District. Mount Sorik Marapi is the highest peak in Batang Girls National Park. Surprisingly, this mountain is the only mountain in Southeast Asia that is expressly prohibited from climbing by women for traditional reasons.Quoting from the Mount Bagging page, Wednesday, October 18 2023, this beautiful volcano has two crater lakes. The largest lake is called Red Lake and can be reached from Sibanggor Julu village at an altitude of 946 meters above sea level. Quoting from the website of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, adjacent to the caldera, there is Lake Aek Cunik which has a fresh taste and reflects three colors, namely yellow, green and bluish, with water about 1 meter deep.

Natal Beach

One of Madina's favorite holiday spots is Natal Beach. Especially those who live on the west coast of North Sumatra. This white sandy beach is located in the western part of Mandailing Natal Regency and directly borders the Indian Ocean. Even though the journey is quite far, when tourists arrive at Natal Beach, there is a beautiful sea view on a wide sandy beach. Visitors can also enjoy the sea breeze and cool air. Natal Beach, which is more than 170 kilometers long, is the longest beach in North Sumatra. In some places, mangrove forests as wide as 50-150 meters from the shoreline make the area more beautiful and natural.

culinary

Toge " taing tumpat " panyabungan

At first glance, toge panyabungan is almost like mixed ice or cendol ice. The difference lies in the content of the drink. Apart from coconut milk, brown sugar and cendol, there are also sticky rice, black pulu, pulubando, candilli and lupisa. When served, this delicious drink is topped with ice to add a cool taste. Toge Panyabungan is now famous throughout North Sumatra, even West Sumatra (Sumbar), many people already know this menu. So it is not surprising that Madina, the temporary market in front of the Panyabungan New Market, is often visited by people from outside who buy Panyabungan sprouts.

Alame / Dodol

Alame is a traditional Mandailing dish made from brown sugar, sticky rice flour and coconut milk then boiled until thickened. Alame is also often called Dodol Mandailing. The tradition of cooking alame is usually done by two people because the process is long and requires a lot of energy so that the alame (dodol mandailing) doesn't burn and crystallize on Eid al-Fitr. Alame craftsmen in Panyabungan make Alame a source of livelihood, and its spread reaches Malaysia.
